Over 90% of our staff are hired from local communities, providing stable employment in an eco-sensitive zone.
Our workforce has tripled in size in the last six years, with wages increased by an average of 35%.
Partnered with Meghshala Foundation to provide technology-based education to over 800 children across 7 schools.
Partnered with WWF to install solar lighting systems across 8 local schools.
Conducted Education for Sustainable Development workshops for students in the Kabini region.

Environmental Protection & Climate Action

Raised funds with WWF to install solar-powered water pumps in forests, ensuring drinking water for wildlife during summer and drought years.
Provided urgent support to the Karnataka Forest Department in fighting forest fires with water tankers and manpower.
Financed anti-poaching efforts in Nagarhole Tiger Reserve for the last 16 years.
Planted over 3,000 indigenous trees at Waterwoods and in Kabini, contributing to habitat regeneration.
Reduced biotic pressures on forests and wildlife by creating alternative employment opportunities for farmers and tribal communities.

Cleanup Drives

At Waterwoods, we believe small, consistent actions protect fragile ecosystems. Our teams and guests regularly participate in cleanup drives around rivers, forests, and beaches, reducing waste and preserving the natural beauty that surrounds our lodges.

Education Support

We partner with local schools to provide technology-based learning, teacher training, and awareness programs on conservation. By investing in young minds, we help nurture the next generation of environmental stewards and community leaders.
